Right now, as many as 1 in 6 children in Oregon are going to school hungry due to food insecurity, which makes it harder for them to focus, learn, and thrive.
Leaders in Oregon are currently considering HB 3435, which would guarantee free school meals for every K-12 student, no matter their family’s income. Thanks to the OR legislature, if passed, a small additional investment from the state will have the ability to support the success of children across Oregon and help working families by easing the burden of growing grocery costs.
We need Oregonians to call their legislators before May 14th and tell them: I support support HB 3435 and providing OR students with free school meals!
